How to Get to Tegenungan Waterfall

Tegenungan Waterfall is roughly a 30 minute drive from Ubud and around an hour drive from Seminyak or Canggu. It's 36 km from Denpasar Ngurah Rai International Airport, and 39 km from Nusa Dua. The address is at Jalan Ir. Sutami, Kemenuh, Sukawati, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 8058. On the way down you’ll pass a few typical Bali photo spots, as well as Baby Tegenungan Waterfall, which doesn’t have much on its big brother. Things To Do at Tegenungan Waterfall

1. Bathing - The beauty of the waterfall can be seen after stepping down more than 150 wide stairs. As the visitors come in, there will be some bathing areas in the waterfall’s surroundings. The bathing areas are separated in an open space with the fresh water directed from the waterfall. Taking a bath here is a great choice for the visitors after swimming in front of the waterfall. Not only the visitors, the locals around the waterfall also use the bathing area on a daily basis.

2. Swimming - Although the water discharge runs quite fast, many visitors still come to swim in the pond. The depth of the pond is not that deep, thus swimming in the area must be fun and safe at the same time. The visitors even can go to the edge of the cliff, getting wet near the falling water. Not into another hike, the visitors were also able to swim in the edge of the pond.

3. Photography - As the place offers a scenic view of nature, many people come to this place to take pictures. There are some favorite spots to take pictures, like the stacking stones. Aim the camera from the stacking stone will give a wide background of Tegenungan waterfall behind. Go early right after sunrise and score the best picture before any crowd.
