Angel's Billabong is one of the most popular Bali Places of Interest with spectacular rock formation near Pasih Uug (Broken Beach), on the southwestern end of Nusa Penida Island. Both spots offer views of beautiful cliffs and pristine coastlines. There’s a pathway leading to a naturally formed rock lagoon, offering a scenic seascape and pleasant swimming spot on the island. It’s a good idea to explore Broken Beach first, where you can enjoy a view of natural limestone arches over the blue waters. A trail (with signposts) will lead you to Angel’s Billabong from the beach. You can enjoy a dip in the rock pools or swim around the entire lagoon if you’re feeling adventurous.

How to Get to Angel's Billabong

Getting to Angel's Billabong you have to go to Nusa Penida Island, you can catch a fast boat from several ports in Bali mainland. Regular speed boat services operate daily between Nusa Penida and Sanur in South Bali as well as between Nusa Penida and Kusamba and Padang Bai in East Bali. Tickets are IDR 175,000 per person for each way, and can be bought at the pier and leave at least once a day starting. The journey takes 40 to 50 minutes depending on the weather and the swell—in inclement weather this can be a rough trip. Exploring the island yourself by scooter will cost around IDR 70,000 and you can rent one straight from the harbour, but be ready for bumpy roads and many holes to avoid and this takes more energy. As long as you enjoy riding motorbikes and no rush you will be fine. The winding streets and natural countryside will accompany you during the trip. To get to this Angel's Billabong you have to go through Banjar Sumpang and ask local people due to the location being still quite difficult to find. Once you reach at the parking area, you have to walk down the pathway towards the cliffs, you’ll see signposts leading the way down the steps to Angel’s Billabong.

Best Time to Visit Angel's Billabong

Angel's Billabong is a beach area, so the best time to visit is between April and October, the island's dry season. However, July to September are the most ideal months to visit this beach since there is little rain and sometimes no rain at all.
